Countertop Edge Profiles
The edge is the part of a countertop you touch every day. This guide shows how each profile is shaped, in section and in perspective, so the conversation with your fabricator starts from the same picture. The drawings are conceptual illustrations, not dimensioned fabrication drawings, and the profiles available for a specific project are confirmed during measurement.
Every profile below is an educational candidate example shown for reference only. It is not a commercial offer from Affordable Granite: availability, compatibility with a specific material, dimensions and fabrication all require confirmation, and no pricing is implied.

Pencil
A straight face with gently eased upper and lower corners.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
1/4 Bevel
A small angled cut along the upper corner of a straight edge.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
1/2 Bevel
A broader angled cut that adds definition to the top of the edge.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
3/8 Radius
A rounded upper corner transitioning into a straight vertical face.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
Ogee
A flowing concave and convex curve along the edge face.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
Dupont
A short straight step above a rounded lower contour.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
Demi Bullnose
A rounded upper face paired with a straighter lower edge.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
Full Bullnose
A continuous rounded face from the top to the underside.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
Mitered
A joined edge construction used to create a deeper apparent face. Slab thickness and apparent edge height are separate specifications.
Mitered construction joins two pieces so the edge reads deeper than the slab. Slab thickness and apparent edge height are separate specifications.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
Laminated
A built-up edge made by joining stone layers. The assembly and visible seam require fabrication review.
Laminated construction builds the edge up from stone layers. The assembly and the visible seam are reviewed before fabrication.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
1 inch Bevel
A pronounced angled upper face. Final dimensions depend on the approved slab and fabrication detail.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
Double Round
Rounded upper and lower corners separated by a straight central face.
Illustration — availability to be confirmed
How an edge is chosen
Every illustration here is educational. It shows the shape of a profile, not a commercial offer, a price or a stocked option.
Some profiles depend on how the countertop is built. A mitered or laminated edge changes the apparent face height without changing the actual slab thickness.
Available profiles are confirmed with your fabricator during in-home measurement, once the material and layout are known.
